HAZARD COMMUNICATION GLOBAL HARMONIZED SYSTEM/ SILICA
Overview of OSHA Standard
It is the employer's responsibility to establish and implement an effective hazard communication program for the safety of their employees. OSHA mandates that all employers are responsible for respirator training fit test and documentation of all employees. This standard was developed to prevent exposure, educate employees, and provide a safe and healthy work environment for all employees subjected to hazardous environments. All employees that are exposed to hazardous chemicals, dust, vapors, fumes, or gases need to be trained under the OSHA 29 CFR 1926.103 standards for the construction industry. Employers are also responsible for supplying all employees with the correct respirator and cartridge for each specific exposure.
